Fans and plans; how it all began on my trip to Japan!

As I lay dreaming in dreary England last week, it came as a huge surprise when my mind catapulted me to a location where cold weather is not on the agenda.

Upon opening my eyes I discovered the vast cityscape of Tokyo spread before me like a carpet of concrete grass. I was in Japan! But it was not the Japan I had envisioned in my imaginings. My expectations were centred around Japan’s splendid past where Geishas roamed the streets and temples littered the landscape with beauty and tradition.

With these ideas branded in my mind I set about doodling the things commonly associated with the Japanese Edo Period and in a flash I was transported to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital.

My journey through Japan was an awe-inspiring experience and utterly unforgettable. Along the way I visited the Senso-ji shrine, Tokyo Imperial Palace, Shinjuku, Tokyo Skytree, Roppongi, Ginza, Akihabarra, Kabukiza Theatre, Mt Fuji and Nijo Castle, as well as witnessing the Sumida River Firework Festival and becoming a Geisha.

Dreaming of Japan has given me one of my greatest adventures!!
